08. Ponte De Rialto
It is an Italian bridge constructed in 1591 designed by Antonio Da Ponte. This bridge received both praise and scorn at the same time just like the Eiffel Tower when it was built. The design of this bridge was scolded and called as “top-heavy and ungraceful”. Apart from all the criticism, this bridge is still intact the way it was before. The bridge is so sound in strength that canons were fired from it during riots of 1797 giving no damage to it. The bridge has a ring of many shops that spans its center.
