02. Tarr Steps
The Tarr Steps is known as “Clapper Bridge” which is made entirely out of rocks resting atop one another. It is hard to tell when it was built but few guesses are 300 BS to medieval times. There is a local legend about this bridge that it was built by Devil himself who swore to kill anyone who crosses it. Given that a pile of rocks doesn’t have the best of foundations; segments have been bowled over by floods through the course of history. For this reason, all the stones have been numbered so they can be recovered and placed back where they belong to keep the authenticity intact.
