07. The Eye of the Sahara, Mauritania
The Sahara Desert in Mauritania also has some very prominent features including the Richat Structure commonly known as the Eye of the Sahara. This remarkable structure is visible from space having a diameter of almost 50 kilometers. The structure is famous for its rare eye formation in the desert. The recent studies have concluded that it is an anticlinal dome that has been eroded over millions of years. This structure has been now regarded by the geologists as deeply eroded geological dome formation.
