04. Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy
This resort is located high in the Italian Dolomites on the five ragged peaks of Cinque Terre. The Winter Olympics were also held there in 1956, after that, it was the most preferred ski resort in Europe. This resort now has a much broader clientele. There are many chic shops and stylish entertainment. Along with downhill skiing, Cortina offers miles of scenic cross-country ski trails, a bobsled run, and the Olympic rink for ice skaters. The entire area where this resort is located is named as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trails and lifts link nearly 400 kilometers of interconnected skiing, including the Marmolada Glacier.
