The altitude here is as high as 3900 meters. It is the Switzerland’s greatest vertical drop and skiable terrain making this the highest winter sports area in the Alps. With the magical mountainous scenery, it marks as the dream of every skier in the world. Not only does the Matterhorn give the town the most scenic setting of any in Europe, its distinctive profile is visible from much of the 350-kilometer trail system connected to Zermatt. Zermatt is a ski home known for its long runs. There is also established the world’s highest cable opened this year.
