05. The Disappearing Sea
This beach plays hide and seek with you. When the tide goes out, it becomes a great place to walk, run and play sports. It is located in Chandipur, India. The sea disappears entirely twice a day with low tide. Due to the unusually flat seabed which comes up to the shore, the low tide makes the sea recede by up to 5 kilometers. The huge expanse of sand is used by locals and tourists for walks, bike rides, and even car journeys all the way out to the now-distant ocean. The sight of ocean disappearing is used to attract tourists here.
